Moved

You know, it only seemed to make sense that I would be moving into this room the day after a major snowstorm.  It took two long subway journeys involving multiple lines and too many sets of stairs, accompanied by a backpack, full tote bag and 70-80 lb. suitcase, which had to be carried over many a stretch of snow on sidewalks which had yet to be shoveled.  I was going to write something longer, but having started packing at 4:30, I have finally finished for the day, and I want to sleep.  And I still have one more much smaller trip to Queens tomorrow.

It's very cold in New York right now, but that only makes me appreciate having a warm bed indoors all the more.

I remember sleeping in these single digit temperatures surrounded by snow a few years ago.  In a way, that was easier than lugging a suitcase around Manhattan (why were so many people on the 1 train at midnight?).  The first journey took an hour, but the second journey took 90 minutes because they are running fewer late night trains due to the snow.

Oh well.  It's time for rest.

Good night!
